Indian Super League and Champions Boat League starts 20th October in Kochi

KBFC Coach Eelco Schattorie left awestruck by the Champions Boat League Race 2019

Kochi(News4city Sports Desk)- Kochi, popularly known as the Queen of the Arabian Sea, today hosted the fifth edition of the Champions Boat League Race held along the first Goshree Bridge and Marine Drive boat jetty. Star Sports, the official broadcaster of Hero Indian Super League and Champions Boat League, organized a special race featuring 120 rowers in each team who were dressed in the colours of the Kerala Blasters FC and ATK ahead of the Hero Indian Super League season opener between the two teams on 20th October 2019 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi.

Adding more flavour and attraction to the event were KBFC Head Coach, Eelco Schattorie and Assistant Coach, Shaun Ontong, who were left awestruck and exhilarated at the level of competition and fierceness of the traditional boat race.

Eelco Schattorie, Head Coach, Kerala Blasters FC said, “I am awestruck to witness a sporting spectacle as breathtaking as this in nature. The fitness and coordination levels of these rowers are supremely high and the passion they displayed whether they won or lost is truly a treat to watch for any sports-person or spectator. I’m really glad to have been a part of this and I wish all the teams good luck for the upcoming races.”

Hero Indian Super League Season 6 starts from 20th October 2019. Fans can catch all the live action of the first match between KBFC and ATK on the Star Sports Network, Hotstar, Asianet Plus and Jio TV beginning at 7:30 pm
