IBSA NATIONAL SPORTS MEET : HIMACHAL AND JODHPUR TEAMS SHINE IN KABADDI CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR THE BLIND

FOOTBALL TEAMS FROM DELHI REGISTER EASY WINSNew Delhi(R.K.Sharma)- The second day of week long programme of sports events saw some excellent Kabaddi play by the blind sports persons in the 3rd IBSA National Kabaddi Championships for the Blind being held in New Delhi from 5-10 January 2015 under the auspices of the Indian Blind Sports Association. FOOTBALL-BlindIn the first match, Blind Persons Association, Solan, Himachal Pradesh trounced NIVH, Dehradun by 80 points.  In the other three matches J.P.M. School, Delhi defeated AIASHA, Mumbai by 48 points, Depanjali Trust, Bangalore defeated Niwasi Andh Vidyalaya, Amravati by 35 points and Netraheen Vikas Sansthan, Jodhpur defeated J.P.M. School, Delhi by 33 points.BLIND-SPORTS-KABADDIOn the second day of 9th IBSA National football Tournament for the Blind concurrently taking place at the special football field created in the premises of the Blind Relief Association, Delhi, NBYA, Delhi defeated NIVH, Dehradun by 2-0 and J.P.M. School, Delhi defeated  Mumbai United, Mumbai by equal margin while SRVC, Kochi defeated NFB, Delhi by 1-0.  In the last and final match of the day, Anand Singh Smarak, Delhi defeated XRCVC, Mumbai by a solitary goal.

First IBSA National Judo Championship which commence today was inaugurated by Shri Awanish K. Awasthi, Joint Secretary, Department of Disability Affairs, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.  He hoped that the young blind Judokers will give their best and bring laurels to their Institutes.

Simultaneously, an athletic coaching camp and seminar on blind sports is currently under way for the benefits of sports instructors/coaches of the blind athletes.
