Delhi Government organized 70th Independence Day

New Delhi (N4C Desk)- Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal today led the Delhiites in celebrating the 70th Independence Day in a State level function organized by Delhi Government at Chhatrasal Stadium by unfurling the Tricolour- National Flag. The Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Health Minister Satyendar Jain, Labour Minister Gopal Rai, Tourism, Art & Culture Minister Shri Kapil Mishra, Environment Minister Imran Hussain, Social Welfare Minister  Sandeep Kumar, a number of MLAs, Chief Secretary, KK Sharma & senior Officers of Delhi Government were also present on this occasion. The Chief Minister inspected the parade at the Stadium and after the inspecting of the parade led by ACP Balram and receiving the Guard of Honour from the contingents of Delhi Police, Civil Defence, Delhi Fire Service, DDMA, NCC & Schools Children, Kejriwal delivered his  Independence Day address as the Delhi Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister announced the decision of Delhi Government to increase the minimum wages on the occasion of Independence Day. He said that his Government has increased the minimum wages of unskilled labour from Rs 9500/- to Rs 14000/-, semi skilled Rs 10600 to Rs 15500 / & for skilled Rs 11600/- to  Rs 17000/- Kejriwal appealed the Prime Minister to implement the same formula of minimum wages of Delhi Government to the entire country for unskilled, semi skilled & skilled labour. Kejriwal said that his Government has done remarkable work in improving the education system in the Delhi. He said that more & more facilities have been added to the schools, 8000 new class rooms have been added to the school buildings for providing better education to the students. He said that in the history of the Delhi the first time a Mega Parent Teacher meet was organized simultaneously in all Delhi Government schools, wherein the parents of 12 lakh students participated & interacted with teachers.  This was really a remarkable experience for all the parents & teachers who participated in this Mega meet. Shri Kejriwal said that his Government has also done remarkable work in the health sector. He said that 1000 Mohalla clinics will be ready in December which will provide the health facilities to the people. Listing specific achievements of the Government in one & half year, he said “We have doubled the education budget and made healthcare budget 1.5 times to improve the state of our government schools and hospitals. 8000 new class rooms have been constructed & added in the schools and 1000 Mohalla clinics will provide dynamic primary healthcare at the doorstep of the people. This will ensure that our children are healthy and well-educated”. Shri Kejriwal remembered Dr. BR Ambedkar & his creation the great Indian Constitution which ensured establishing democracy, equal rights to the people of all States. He argued that while the citizens of other States are enjoying the rights under the Constitution, the people of Delhi are not enjoying the same rights from its elected Government due to limited powers provided to its elected Government, which has added to their anguish. Shri Kejriwal committed said that his Government will work continuously & tirelessly for the welfare & services of poor, weaker sections of society & the have-nots.
