CRPF CELEBRATES 76TH RAISING DAY AT NEEMUCH
New Delhi (N4C Desk)-CRPF, the largest Paramilitary on the earth, celebrated its 76th Raising Day, in a grand ceremony, held in the Group Centre today. CRPF, originally raised on 27th July, 1939, in this city, has slowly evolved into the largest and one of the most versatile Paramilitary Forces of the world.Rajnath Singh, Hon’ble Union Home Minister was the Chief Guest on this occasion.
Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Hon’ble Chief Minister of MP was the Guest of Honourwas the Guests of Honour.Prakash Mishra, DG CRPF was present alongwith other senior officers of CRPF and State Police.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajnath Singh said that the parade was super excellent and that CRPF is usually the first choice of any authority, in the event of an emergency.
He termed the Force as a protector of the temple of democracy. He further informed that the hospital admission period of personnel injured on duty will now be treated as ‘Duty for all purposes’. He also said that to remove stagnation in the rank of Constable, 13860 Constables have been promoted to the rank of Head Constable. He further stressed on the need to work on issues like Detachment Allowance & Risk Allowance (allowing both together to personnel posted in Maoist areas) and improving infrastructure.
Sh Singh informed that the Financial powers of DG has been enhanced from Rs. 5 crores to 10crores and in all 564 crores have been allocated. Fifty (50) Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have also been sanctioned to facilitate operations. He praised CRPF that due to its sustained effort, there has been a substantial decline of 30% in maoist activities.He facilitated the war hero of the battle of ‘Sardar Post’, Bhawani Dutt Sharma, SI (Retd) and said that he himself felt elated and honoured in facilitating him. He said that he has full faith in the jawans of CRPF.
Welcoming the Chief Guest and others, Prakash Mishra, DG said that CRPF has grown from a single battalion to a gigantic 235 battalion Force and this city and its residents have significantly contributed towards it. In the last one year CRPF has killed 85 militants/Maoists/insurgents and apprehended more than 1100. He also pointed out that certain issues are to be looked into such as Risk Allowance, Detachment Allowance, Accommodation. He further said that the Force is resolved and dedicated to maintain the Unity & Integrity of the Nation.
In all, eight parade contingents consisting of one contingent each from the four zones, along with one contingent each of Mahila, RAF, CoBRA and Training took part in the parade. The parade was commanded by ShSuraj Pal Verma, Commandant. Grandeur of the Force was displayed by the magnificent show of balance and equilibrium byMahila daredevils, riding on motorcycles, leaving the spectators dumb-stuck. The spectacular display of wit and agility by the canines in discovering hidden IEDs and anti-hijacking operations, was greeted with awe & applause equally.
The Home Minister presented the President’s Police Medal for Gallantry (PPMG) to SmtDas, widow of ShaheedSaunak Kumar Das, Assistant Commandant of 177 Bn, martyred in Dhamtari District of Chhattishgarh State, when he raided a Maoist hideout deep inside jungles of Khallari on 1st June, 2013 and single-handedly eliminated two heavily armed maoists, despite being seriously injured and maimed. He also presented the Police Medals for Meritorious Service to M.V. Rao, IG, S.N. Sabat, IG, ShM.K.Sinha, IG, ShAjitKulshreshtha, IG (Retd as ADG), ShS.P.Singh, IG (Retd as ADG), ShS.B.Kajal, IG, ShJ.Rajendran, Commandant, G.T. Lepcha, Dy Commandant, Inspector Jangsher Singh and Head Constable/Driver K.K. Jaya Kumar. The trophies for Best Operational battalions in Left Wing Extremism area, North Eastern area and Jammu & Kashmir area were lifted by 94, 156 and 185 Bns respectively.
