Wardha (N4C Desk)- School of Education, Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya, Wardha, is happy to share with you the good news that we will be starting a two year B.Ed programme from 2015-2016 session. NCTE has given us the permission to start two-year programme in accordance with their revised norms. So, unlike already running B.Ed programmes, School of Education will be running a two-year programme as specified by NCTE-2014 norms.

School of Education, Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya is functioning in Muktibodh Bhawan. Muktibodh Bhawan is fully equipped to run a two-year B.Ed programme. It has well designed infrastructural facilities such as smart classrooms; laboratories; resource room; ICT lab. Our departmental library has subscribed refereed journals both international and national. We also have sports equipment for both indoor and outdoor games. We also have free wi-fi facility for all.

All these infrastructural facilities will be incomplete without a dedicated and qualified faculty. We have eight faculty members, of which, we have one Professor; one Associate Professor and six Assistant Professors as of now. We also have guest faculty members who come in to teach performing arts, fine arts and physical education etc.

B.Ed curriculum is designed on the basis of Choice Based Credit System (C.B.C.S.). The objective of C.B.C.S. is to give choice to pupil-teachers to choose a minimum of two subjects per semester from any department of the university. These subjects could be from Media; Women Studies; Hindi Literature; Language Technology; Drama; Social Work etc of their choice. Thus giving pupil-teachers an opportunity to explore their areas of interest and specialization in them. The course will have unique school experience in each semester which will be linked with theory papers. A rigorous semester long internship will give necessary professional experience to all pupil-teachers. Encouraging socially responsible behaviors will be the foremost agenda of the course. Social responsibility will be encouraged through intense engagement with the environment. This engagement will be spread over four semesters as part of the already running initiatives such as Nisarg; Pahal; Nipun; Pustak Vimarsh; Atma Manthan etc. These clubs will organize activities ranging from nature walk and tree plantation to visiting villages and teaching children from under-privileged section of the society. Thus facilitating understanding of the ‘self’ through creative exercises.

To this end, it is stated that the experience of doing B.Ed at Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya will be a unique experience which will help and inspire pupil-teachers to enter in teaching profession with a missionary zeal. And ultimately, it will help them to transform themselves as a thinking human being that is a pre-requisite to be a teacher.
